When I read the story on Yahoo news about the discovery of 17th century pearls under deep sea off Key West, I remembered those charming stories of hidden treasures and how can retrieve it with a lot of challenges traveling across seven seas.
Only this time, the story became real and the treasures are genuine pearls and gold bars.
"Salvagers discovered thousands of pearls Friday in a small, lead box they said they found while searching for the wreckage of the 17th-century Spanish galleon Santa Margarita."
So, all those historical facts about distant countries carried on trade through voyages are incidentally proved when the said ship was bound for Spain when it sank in a hurricane in 1622.
Was it an Indian ship that belonged to the Chola dynasty?(smile)
