Laptop made of corn.

The Japanese continues to amaze the rest of the world with technological inventions. Apart from new inventions and technological advancements, their willingness to try out new technology is to be appreciated with whole heart.

There was this news story featured in Yahoo's home page about the laptop case made of corn plastic that kindled my curiosity to read further.
"Fujitsu recently took the bold step of using corn-based polymers, at least in part, in one laptop, the FMV-BIBLO NX95X/D. (Now that's a name!)"

But wait dear before finding out which of your local dealers sell this. It is only available in Japan as of now because they are yet o get the certificate from authorities to market the product in U.S.

It is reported that the corn based plastic is not fully fire resistant. The appearance of the case of laptop did not give any hint that it is made out of corn based polymer.

I read a comment for this blog post that is thought provoking. It says this product will make us less dependent on petroleum based polymer.
