These images you see on a tree-these are not any monster insects but fruits! Yes, these are called Dragon Fruits. Very apt name indeed; it sure looks scary with those protruding antennae like things.
The fruit is a native of Mexico but is now cultivated in Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia.
When cut into half, it reveals succulent white flesh covered by black seeds that are also edible along with the flesh which I believe require an extra sweetener to eat.
The actual name of the fruit is Pitaya. It has large white flowers that are said to bloom only during night. These flowers are called Moon Flower and Queen of the night.
There are totally three varieties in this fruit based on the color of the flesh inside that are white, red and yellow.
Anyone of my blog reader has tasted it?

That is one cool looking fruit. I have never tried it. I think it would be a really cool in a table arrangement--like people do with lemons.
I've never tasted it but it looks gorgeous. Is it sweet or sour?
Hello Miracle fruit,
So, you are also seller of fruits?
Nice website you have.
If I try to explain how a fruit tastes, it will be mere words unless you taste it.
