Personal control light for computer people.

I am a firm believer of this famous quote: “Everything that happens is for good only”.

What happened to me in the last 5 days is the perfect proof. On last Wednesday, my eyes developed bearable pain. I fixed up an appointment with an ophthalmologist and I was lucky to get one the same evening.

After thorough checking, he declared that I must go in more tests and that meant more expenditure. The doctor knew that I spend 9 hours a day in front of the computer.

He inquired if I am using the latest ergonomic products for which I affirmed. It was obvious to him that I am not because he suspected that one of the causes for my eye defect is improper lighting.

I admitted that the computer table does not get exclusive lighting and I only use the single light on the ceiling.

That was enough; he understood. He took time to explain to me about why I should use a kaleidoscope personal control light. (See picture).

Since light is created along the entire length of a compact fluorescent bulb, more diffused lighting with less shadow is produced than from an incandescent bulb.

See, my eye pain cautioned me to take more care of my eyes and I got a personal control light for my work place.

Have the same problem - there is no significant eyesight loss so far, but by the end of the day eyes may ache and feel as if dry and itchy. Could you share your experience with the lamp in a week of use, please? I would be really interested in getting the same if it does work.

The reason for the dryness is because the eyes have gone dry. (Smile). My doctor told me that tears tank in my eyes have gone dry because I rarely blink while working at the computer. How do you like this for a fact?

Hmmm, right you are, I definitely rarely blink while working, have never noticed this before... interesting, why is it so... will try to blink more often and see if it helps:)
