Have you heard of the native American tribe called Lakota? If, not, read Wikipedia.

Well, our modern day Spiderman, the super hero is an incarnation of a character in Lakota folk tales.

There was this man called Iktomi who featured in several folk tales. He was born to a man called Inya, a God like person for the Lakota people.

The ancient Spiderman had a brother too.This man does impossible things. His funny ways of doing things caused the people to laugh at him.

He plays an important role in all the stories and also in the oral history.
