Christmas tree at Rockefeller center is lit.

Rockefeller center Christmas Tree-New York

The famous Rockefeller Christmas tree is lit and thus announcing the official(?) holiday mood in New York, the city that never sleeps.

Google news has reported that already tens of thousands of people gathered in New York’s Manhattan plaza to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree get lit; among the crowd was survivors of Hurricane Katrina, whose home was partly built by last year’s Christmas tree.

I invited my neighbor who has the Christmas star light on his balcony to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller center. He was delighted sincerely. He has never heard of this before.

Beyonce and Jamie Foxx are some of top celebrities that have attended the lighting ceremony. The singers entertained the thousands of people next to the eight-ton, 72-foot Norway spruce.

Americans are now serious and committed towards protecting the environment by using 30,000 energy-efficient LED lights to light the tree.
