What will you do when a ghost visits you?

You obviously run away as far as you could, dropping everything abruptly.

Bodie town from Google Images.

Well many people did so, at least it seemed to be, in a town in Northern California, near Sierra Nevada border.

The town: Bodie
Location: Northern California, a day drive away from San Francisco. It is situated in the mountains, at a height of 2400 meters.

Bodie is called a 'ghost town' because it looks deserted and decay is written all over the place. The decays is arrested, they say.

You can find even today:
A table with poker chips and playing cards
A store with goods on the shelves
School books on a desk

The eerie looking town was once the second largest city in California. It was also the first city to get electricity over long distance cables. (Is it so?)

This ghost town's history is an interesting read. It is very well written by Joe Kissell. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article on itold.com

Interesting to find out about Bodie, CA. I'm a retired history teacher and thats a new one for me. Really like your site, think I'll put in end and favorites and check it out completely when I have more time. I live in the southern part of the USA, state of Mississippi, city of Brookhaven about 90 miles north of New Orleans. My blog is attached to a commerical site, I have however, just started a new one--not much on it yet. I do have photos of family and pets there you may want to check it out. You will get to backlinks that way. Site url http://pennypatch1.wordpress.com

Happen to think of your blog while making a recent post with a small math problem in it. Took me about 30 minutes to set it up--thought you might get a kick out of it. Although I taught history, I also taught several senior high math classes--my second love. The math problem is in the post entitled "Barack Loves Pork" must click the comment link to see the problem. Sorry, so long in getting back to you site--actually I lost your url and only ran across it while checking my backlinks.
