Is the world running out of salt?

Would you believe if I tell you to eat less salt because it will soon disappear from the ocean? Obviously you would think I am crazy.

Well, I am not crazy but I gave you the news of eating less salt with a twist. Consuming less salt may be healthy but asking people to consume salt less than the desired quantity is unhealthy too. No one will eat food with more salt deliberately. They will spit out the food immediately-right?

But of course, what tastes normal to me may be too salty to you! Nature obviously doesn't believe in mediocrity!

So what is cooking?
There is a campaign launched by Dr. Frieden, the commissioner of New York City’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene against packaged food manufacturers to use less salt in the food they pack. I agree with this move because packaged snacks are liberally sprinkled with sodium chloride.

What if there is a protest?
You might see this!

The old salt saying was "when it rains it pours" ---a contradiction, on those rainy days when the humidity is high the salt doesn't pour, matter-of-fact it hard to get out of the shaker. If the salt leaves the ocean the fish will die, just a thought.
