Can you believe it? Global economic setback is directly proportionate to decrease in birth rates!
The news is, only the developed countries have reported the drop in fertility since 2008. Well, I don't think it applied to my dear old India.
Indians seems to be least bothered about economy of nation as well as their own well economic being. New born babies continue to fill the beds in maternity hospitals totally oblivious (and blissfully too) in India and the so called developing and under-developed countries.
I would say this indicates to people who are spiritually sound refusing to allow external conditions to affect their personal life. In developed countries, it is said that professional and educated women feared for their financial future if they became pregnant.
Which countries reported decrease in birth rates?
England and Wales were among several European countries to experience this rather unhealthy trend. The United States, Spain and Latvia too experienced a dramatic reversal in birth rates since 2008.
“The young and the childless, for example, are less likely to have children during recessions,” said Tomas Sobotka of the Vienna Institute of Demography in Austria, who led the study.

I am bemused and also saddened by this attitude. It is similar to reactions in Stock Exchanges on every minor mishap in the U.S. and Japan.
